Mediation for the Alderley Edge Area
Separation is difficult wherever you live, and in the Alderley Edge and Wilmslow area, financial settlements can be more involved than most, taking in property, pensions, investments and sometimes business interests. Family mediation is well suited to exactly these situations. On the basis of full and honest financial disclosure, it gives you both a calm, confidential space to work through even complex finances and reach a fair agreement, without the cost, delay and publicity of contested court proceedings.
Mediation is voluntary and impartial. The mediator does not take sides or make decisions for you; they help you both reach an agreement that works. It is also confidential and legally privileged, which many families in the area particularly value.
Handling More Complex Finances
Where a settlement involves significant or complex assets, mediation still works well, and often better than court, because you keep control of the outcome. The mediator helps you build a clear, shared financial picture and explore options such as how property, pensions and other assets are divided. For substantial pensions or business interests, mediation sits comfortably alongside the independent legal and financial advice we would always encourage you to take.
How It Works
Mediation starts with a MIAM, a private individual meeting, followed by joint sessions if suitable. All sessions are online, so you take part from home in Alderley Edge, Wilmslow or wherever you are, with no need to travel.
